Craig Pennington
Craig Pennington has established a distinguished career in the data center industry and is currently serving as the founding executive and chief technology officer at Montera Infrastructure, he spearheads the development of a new hyperscale and artificial intelligence (AI) – factory focused data center company backed by Stonepeak. Montera Infrastructure is dedicated to designing, delivering and operating multi-megawatt data center buildings and campuses to support the adoption of AI and the growth of internet-delivered services. Mr. Pennington’s tenure at Oracle followed a successful period at Equinix, a publicly traded digital infrastructure company based in Redwood City, California.
Before joining Equinix, Mr. Pennington served as the vice president of operations at NTT Europe Ltd. from 2001 to 2010. He also held leadership roles as a managing director for Europe at NonStopNet between 2000 and 2001 and as a European programme director at PSINet from 1999 to 2000.
Mr. Pennington’s career began with a notable military service in the Royal Air Force, where he was sponsored as an engineering officer and served for 10 years.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering physics from Sheffield Hallam University in the U.K. in 1991 and a Master of Business Administration from London Business School in 2004.
Mr. Pennington’s commitment to civic engagement earned him the Duke of Edinburgh Award for Adventurous Expedition while serving with RAF Strike Command in 1997. Looking ahead, he aims to continue excelling by building new data centers and establishing Montera Infrastructure as a leading provider of AI facilities, continuing his legacy of innovation and leadership in the field.
