Javad Asghari
avad is a Partner in Simpson Thatcher’s Mergers and Acquisitions and Energy and Infrastructure practices, focusing on major energy and infrastructure projects in the Americas and around the globe. In the last five years, he has advised on the acquisition or disposition of more than 100 power projects totaling more than 48 GW of capacity. His practice has a particular focus on (i) mergers and acquisitions of E&I projects and (ii) project development, including advising on joint venture, governance and commercial (including concession, EPC and offtake) agreements with respect to the development of data centers; renewable and conventional power generation; transmission and distribution projects; renewable hydrocarbon projects and LNG projects.
In recent years, Javad has represented a variety of generators in the development and construction of power generation projects (including thermal generation, renewable generation, and nuclear generation) to serve data center load, including ‘behind-the-meter’ projects. His clients include developers and private equity funds involved in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
