Rachel Peterson
Rachel Peterson leads Meta’s efforts to expand and operate its global data center footprint. In this position, she oversees all aspects of the data center lifecycle, from site selection to engineering and design, to construction and operations, as well as Meta's net zero commitments and renewable energy procurement. She focuses on building the capacity to support all of Meta’s products and technologies, including AI-optimized infrastructure.
Previously, Rachel served as Vice President for Data Center Strategy at Meta. In that role, she oversaw Meta’s global infrastructure expansion and strategy. This included data center site selection, energy, capacity analytics and planning, data center community engagement, and sustainability. She has led the development of data centers in the U.S., Europe, and Asia as well as the pivot to Meta’s new AI-optimized data center design. Prior to joining Meta in 2009, Rachel held a variety of roles at Google and Cisco Systems. Rachel has an MBA from Arizona State University and a BA in Economics from the University of Arizona.
