Stew Hamilton

Stew Hamilton became Chief Executive of Mercury in September 2024, after joining the company in 2021 as Executive General Manager, Generation, where he oversaw the management, operation and maintenance of Mercury’s electricity generation assets. He brings more than 25 years’ experience working with industrial energy customers across mining, minerals processing and manufacturing in Australia, New Zealand and Africa, and was previously Chief Executive of New Zealand Aluminium Smelters. Stew holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Auckland and an MBA from the University of Melbourne.
